This is a short but good article basically a question and answer segment. It finial gave me a decent answer about fuel economy. But it is too short to pull much information from.

this is an article about the unfulfilled promises of bring more e85 gasoline to Florida. It was promised to bring ethanol to many people but they have seemed to fail to meet it by the date they promised. Make you wonder if it is possible to produce this fuel or if it is even possible to transport what was the reason they could not fulfill their promises. Could be a major setback.
"Down on the farm.(In the News)(Brief article)." American Scientist. 95. 4 (July-August 2007): 317(1). Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. Thomson Gale. Mesa Community College. 14 Sep. 2007 .
Interesting a fuel that has been called a cleaner burning fuel is not cleaner in all respects. It is said that if we converted to this fuel we would have more asthma and create more ozone related mortality. This brings the question is it still worth it. The article still says it does remove some pollutants but how important are those pollutants.

"Lower price of e85 fuel catches consumers' attention." Kansas City Star. (May 23, 2005): NA. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. Thomson Gale. Mesa Community College. 14 Sep. 2007 .
This article goes somewhat in depth about price and why ethanol is somewhat cheaper. It turns out there is a tax break of about 50 cents a gallon. Didn’t know there was such a following from the car companies. This will help compare its worth I get to see how much it was compared to gas and the fuel economy difference.

Audiences’ backgrounds; my audience is mainly politicians, lobbyist and anyone who is looking for a better fuel source. Education is usually college graduate or at least some college with little to no technical background in this subject.
The biased against alternative fuels is their price and their reputation for lack of power.
This could open their mind and show them that alternative fuel is already here in many places and coming to many others fairly quickly. It may also show them that it may not ba as expensive as they think.
I want them to support alternative energy which type I don’t know yet but by the end ill find out which looks more appealing.
I want them to want to help the environment. I would like them to abandon their dependence on oil and see what alternative fuels can achieve.
I don’t expect they know much more than they exist. I don’t believe they would know how they work and what they are.
They want to know how to better the environment without hurting their wallet.
They need what type of a change in their life the switch would be and when a more viable option will appear.

My topic involves everyone but it mainly involves researchers that are trying to push one form on technology for their own benefit. Although most of the public is blind to the need for alternative energy there is still a massive amount of the population that want to do something good for our planet or at least less bad for it. The people effective are the ones that would rather keep their money in America instead of sending it overseas or they are the ones that are tired of the smog and pollution associated with gasoline engines. They could use the information to lobby for more funding and they could also use it to convert more people to using alternative fuels.
Its simple everyone should read this. It does not seem like much right now but there is a good chance that one of these forms of energy will keep this country running when oil supply runs so low and the gas prices go so high no one can afford it.

I want to find many new and updated rescores since my question involves a technology that evolves daily. I want to find many journals that tell the basic pros and cons of each power source. Most of my research involves other research papers that have done a study on one form or the other and are unbiased. I am going to rely on web pages a lot to give me enough new information. Newspapers will also give me good and current news on my subject. Most of my searches are going to start on the mesa community college web page.

My question was, What type of alternative fuel would be the best option to lessen our demand on foreign oil? After going thru a few of the research exercises I was left with basically the same question. Then I reached the refine my research question section and it told me some phrases to use and eliminate vague words. I tried and came up with;
It is clear that we cannot rely on foreign oil to sustain our country, would e85 or hydrogen fuel cells provide our country with a better alternative?

Chapter three The first half is mainly how to refine your research question by identifying vague words and making them more direct. It also shows you many more methods on how to create a question and how to make it not be broad. It then gives you a rundown of what a research proposal is.
Chapter four goes tell you to identify the most relevant sites and the type of resources you will use to gather information. It gave me a summary of what each type of information had to offer and how to save them thru email printing, copying, and pasting.
Chapter five is all about searching for sources. It tells you where to search and how to tell which electronic resource is a reliable one

In this week i learned a lot about arguments and how to narrow my topic in the readings. This deadline forced me to start to find research on a paper which i usually wait till the last moment on. And its nice to see where everyone is at and the topics they choose. this week introduced me to directories and reinforced what i learned in 101 about the electronic resources on the mcc site. Being able to read their posts let me see where i was at and if i was going in the right direction. I got to see their perspective on their topics and what type of research they got.
